Membership is a serious but wonderful commitment. When covenant members join they are committing to a spiritual family in which we strive to meet the “one-another” commands of scripture. This means we love and care for one another while holding each other accountable and spurring one another on toward finding abiding joy in Jesus Christ.
If you are considering joining with us in membership then the process is easy and one we would love to help you walk through. We begin by offering a Big Sky 101 class. This class is designed to teach you about our mission and vision for Big Sky Fellowship. We will also spend some time discussing what it means and what is required to be a covenant member. This class will help you navigate the three steps toward covenant membership. These three steps are basic but go a long way in helping us protect the church body.
Step one is that you must have repented of sin and placed faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, and have been baptized after conversion. Salvation in Christ is what makes you part of his body and therefore must take place if we are to be a true representation of the body of Christ.
Step two is attending a Big Sky 101 class. We will offer these periodically throughout the year so that all members have a good understanding of what is expected and we can be on the same page as we pursue the vision for Big Sky Fellowship. It is during this class that you will have the opportunity to share your salvation experience with an elder or deacon and we can confirm that step one has indeed occurred in your life.
Step three involves signing the membership covenant of our church. This acts as a promise to uphold our covenant and beliefs and to fight for the good of the church and the advancement of the Kingdom.
